The President’s Award for Outstanding Performance of Academic/Teaching Staff was established in 2000/2001 to recognise outstanding performance, to promote excellence in performance standards and to encourage colleagues to press on for greater achievement. Under the Scheme, the President will give out at most two President’s Awards for Outstanding Performance in each award category in the three areas of teaching, scholarly work and service.

A Sub-Committee each for Teaching, Scholarly Work, and Service were formed to consider all nominations made by Faculties/Schools. Recommendations of these Selection Sub-Committees were then considered by the Selection Committee chaired by the President with members comprising the Provost, the Vice-President (Research and Development), the Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and one representative drawn from the Members of each Sub-Committee.
